De six-wired bird of paradise
Er is nog ongerepte natuur! Maar niet voor lang geloof ik. Wetenschappers hebben weer een nieuw stukje gerept in Nieuw Guinea. Erg gaaf: 300.000 hectare ongerepte natuur, vreemde beesten en plantjes in de bergen. Beestjes zoals de "Berlepsch's six-wired bird of paradise" (plaatje rechts), "boomkangoeroes" en langbek echidna's (een zoogdier dat eieren kan leggen). Wezentjes die totaal niet bang voor mensen leken te zijn (wat zou betekenen dat ze nog niet weten dat mensen vervelend zijn). Owja, en voor de plantenliefhebbers is er nog de vermoedelijk grootste rhodondenderon.
